Making A Difference
This world is in desperate need for a change. 350 million people of all ages are dealing with depression, 800,000 people have died of suicide every year, and approximately two million self-harm cases are reported annually. What has this world come to? We can't live with each other anymore, we can't live with ourselves. The people are ruthless, brutal, and cold-blooded. How can we change this dark and gloomy planet into a bright and cheerful place that people are happy to live in?
Just a smile or a "How is your day?" is all someone needs. If you look at someone and you feel they're hurting, do not be afraid to ask them if everything is okay. They most likely need someone there for them, and you could be that someone. They probably won't pour all their feelings out on you right then and there, it takes time for someone to open up and let go of the pain. Just be sure to check in with them once or twice a week so they know that you want to help.
Remember that the little things do count. Whether it be an encouraging smile or an accidental dirty look, it matters. It could change someone's day completely.
Help break the distress. Be the someone who can make a change. If we all pitch in as a team, imagine what we could do.
Child Abuse
In early September, Ronika Bell brought her four kids down to their father's house in Florida, after being evicted from her home in North Carolina. Joshua Bell, the father, called the police saying the children looked very malnourished, very skinny and dirty. "Ear wax just pouring out of their ears," he said, "Dead skin. It just didn't look right." After being taken to the hospital for treatment, the police interviewed the three oldest kids. The children told police that they were locked in a bedroom and were rarely fed. They also said that were whooped with a belt when they asked for food, and made to do situps or pushups for long periods of time. When they did eat, they described to police their one meal they would get was cereal with water. "From what I heard, the house was stocked with food," Joshua Bell said. "I don't understand why they couldn't just have some normal meal." Each of the kids said that they were beaten with belts, sticks, wires, hangers, or fists when they tried to steal food.
Now what is this, what kind of a cruel, heartless, disgusting human would do such a thing to their own offspring...made children do situps for food. That's just wicked. The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) really needs to step up their game and crack down on the families who really need them.
When I was eight years old, I lived down the street of a family with four children. The parents would do drugs in the house and starve the children, but DFCS was never there. The cops were called on them a couple of times but they never did anything about it, not until one of the children drowned in the bathtub and died. True story.
When I was ten years old, I had a friend named Joyiea, who was the same age as me and also lived up the street from me. Her mother was a straight up crackhead, she would wander around the neighborhood yelling crazy things while my mother and I hid Joyiea from her in my bedroom. We called DFCS, and all the mother had to say was, " I dont care! Take her! I'll pack her bags for her!" Sure enough, Joyiea was gone.
These parents need to get their act together, abusing a child is a disgusting thing to do. No kid should ever have to put up with starving, or being beat. They should get the most out of their childhood as they can. And with their uncaring parents in the way, it's hard for them to do so.
This year, 77 children have died due to child abuse in Georgia. That just tells you something about how hard DFCS isn't trying.

Abortion
One more heart that was stopped. Two more eyes that will never see. Two more hands that will never touch. Two more legs that will never run. One more mouth that will never speak. One more heart that will never love. Why have an abortion? You either keep the child and love him forever, put him up for adoption for a family who would care for him, or just don't have sex until you're ready for the responsibility. God said, "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13) The life that is growing inside the mother is a baby, a form of life, a child. Why kill off the poor, innocent child?
Honestly, I think that abortion should be banned. There have been about 40 to 50 million abortions per year, which means that there around 125,00 abortions per day. I know people say that the child isn't considered "alive" until they take their first breath, but they're wrong. The fetus is in the mother's womb, eating and moving around just like any other human can do. That child is very well alive, and deserves to stay that way until they die of age.
The mother of that child knows what love is, everyone knows. Maybe the man who got her pregnant isn't there now, and that's the reason she wants the abortion. If only she could let that little angel into this world, she would be able to feel the love she craves. That infant will love her with all their heart up until death. If only she would give it the opportunity.
For the women who have been raped, they need to be compassionately cared for. But that compassionate care does not include terminating the child. I understand that the woman doesn't want the child around to bring back the horrific memories, that's fine. There are millions of families who are desperate for a child that they can't get on their own.
No matter how hard you try, you will NEVER be able to erase what abortion does. Abortion takes the life of an innocent baby. You killed a human being, and time will not erase murder. Though it is a choice, it's a choice that should never be made. That choice will stay with you forever and do nothing but haunt you. Just don't do it.
Gay Rights
There are many people in this world who get judged for who they love. Whether it be a man and a man, or a woman and a woman. People get beaten and tortured because of this, sometimes even executed. Love is not a color or a specific sex. Love is a clear, transparent emotion towards another person. There should be respect for this, not criticism and dishonor. The American Gay Rights Movement has been around since 1924, and here we are now 90 years later and people still get judged for who they love. Why can't the world just accept each other? We were put on this earth together, we're supposed to be there for one another. We should be respectful to everyone as a whole, not throw hatred around like this! There are 35 states now that have legalized gay marriage, and that pisses people off because they think that gay marriage "offends God". God loves all his children no matter what. He put these people on earth for a reason. People nowadays paraphrase the book in which was written 3,500 years ago. Just leave them be, if God doesn't like it then he has enough power to have done something about it by now.
No matter what other people say, there will always be a fight. Gay's know they deserve the equality just as much as anyone else does, and for that they will always protest for their rights. You can't stop them, so just let them love and be loved. Their marriage doesn't affect you at all.

Human Rights Commitee Proposed
Recently there has been a recommendation that a full fledged humans rights committee be created. One of the major advocates of this is Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed. Him and others believe that a fully fledged committee would be better able to fully tackle human related issues. The senator also recommended that there be made a journalist defense fund to help the reporters and journalist hurt by terrorist attacks. Senator Hussain threw out another idea that a ministry for disaster be created for human and nonhuman disasters. It is said by this panel that a host of problems and loop holes is made due to the lack of a committee like unneeded violence of the police force on its citizens. The creation of a committee could focus more heavily on this issue solve more problems and help a lot of people who need it.
